Use a NATA-accredited lab -- The only companies that are guaranteed by the Australian government to do the right testing are those that go through a NATA-accredited lab. 

 

Make sure any company you are considering does that.

How does the testing happen? -- The company you choose will come to your home at a previously agreed upon time.

 

They will take air samples first. They will then take samples of any suspect material that may be in your attic, your walls, under your sinks or your floorboards or even in basements and cellars.

 

All of these samples with then be sent to the NATA-accredited lab they deal with for testing. They will tell you about the results of the test within 48 hours, sometimes sooner.
